October 27, 2008 – The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) presented a new book entitled: “Taxation and Latin American Integration”, for which it invited the CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Claudino Pita, co-author of the book, to lecture in the seminar organized for such purpose on the topic: ”Exchanging Tax Information to Curb Unfair Competition”, which corresponds to Chapter 10 of said publication.

The work published by IDB and Harvard University’s David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies was presented on October 9, 2008 at the Andres Bello Auditorium of the IDB headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Other co-authors and speakers who participated in this event were: Vito Tanzi, former State Undersecretary of the Treasury of Italy; Peter Byrne, former Deputy Director of Harvard University’s International Tax Program; Eduardo Wiesner, former Minister of Finance of Colombia and Luiz Villela and Alberto Barreix, representing the Inter-American Development Bank.
