CIAT Recognizes Mr. Mariano Rojo’s Contributions After Five Years of Service

On July 22, 2026, the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) held a farewell ceremony for Mr. Mariano Rojo, Head of the Spanish Mission to CIAT and Financial Counselor at the Spanish Embassy in Panama, to mark the conclusion of five years of outstanding work and collaboration with the CIAT Executive Secretariat.

The ceremony brought together the staff from the CIAT Executive Secretariat and was attended by representatives from Panama’s General Directorate of Revenue (DGI), including Deputy Director General, Alexandra Marotta Mauad, accompanied by Diva Pinzón, Attorney with the Office of Tax Evasion and Fraud and Panama’s Correspondent to CIAT, who presented a commemorative plaque in recognition of Mr. Rojo’s dedication and valuable contribution to strengthening international cooperation in tax matters.

 

 

During the ceremony, CIAT Executive Secretary Márcio Ferreira Verdi highlighted Mr. Mariano Rojo’s personal qualities, professionalism, and dedication to service, as well as his valuable contribution to the development of strategic initiatives, his ongoing support for various institutional projects, and his outstanding role in strengthening CIAT’s cooperation with Spanish institutions and other strategic partners.

For his part, Mr. Mariano Rojo expressed his gratitude for the years of shared work and affirmed that CIAT is a true gem for international tax cooperation, thanks to its ability to bring tax administrations together, promote the exchange of knowledge, and institutionally strengthen its member countries.

 

 

The recognition event concluded with a heartfelt acknowledgment from the staff of the CIAT Executive Secretariat of Mr. Rojo’s commitment, dedication, and valuable legacy, along with their best wishes for success in the new chapter of his life he is embarking on and upon his return to Spain.
