CIAT organizes meeting of the Tax Studies and Research Areas Network

From October 27 to 29, 2015 the 5th. Meeting of the CIAT Tax Studies and Research Areas Network took place in the city of Santiago, Chile; its main topic was the methodologies that assess the impact of voluntary compliance programs.

The keynote speaker of the meeting was the renowned professor Dina Pomeranz, Professor at the Business School of Harvard University, who presented the impact evaluation revolution in tax administration.

In the framework of the meeting, a training workshop was also carried out, presented by experts of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) whose regional office for Latin America and the Caribbean is attached to the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.

The meeting gathered delegates from 14 tax administrations of CIAT member countries, and was attended by representatives of the Institute of Tax Studies of Spain (IEF), the World Bank and ECLAC.

This event was co-organized with the Internal Revenue Service (SII) of Chile and was sponsored by the German Cooperation (GIZ) and the Inter- American Development Bank (IDB), through the Regional Policy Dialogue.
