CIAT participated in the symposium “The Future of Taxes”
On February 11-12, 2026, the Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT), Mr. Márcio Verdi, participated in the international symposium “The Future of Taxes,” organized by the Center for Global Tax Policy at WU Vienna, part of the Austrian and International Tax Law Institute.
The event, held in Vienna, brought together tax policymakers, academics, and international experts to analyze the current challenges facing tax systems in a constantly changing global environment.

Within this framework, Mr. Verdi participated in two panel discussions.The latter was attended by senior international officials, including representatives from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and was chaired by Professor Richard Stern of WU Vienna.
During his remarks, the Executive Secretary shared CIAT’s perspective on the evolution of tax administrations and the impact of technological innovation on tax management.
CIAT’s participation reaffirms its commitment to knowledge sharing and international cooperation in tax matters.
