CIAT Strengthens Cooperation Ties with UNODC in Ecuador

As part of the technical visit by the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) to Quito, Ecuador, the CIAT team held a working meeting at the offices of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), at the invitation of Dr. Saskia Núñez.

This meeting provided an opportunity for dialogue aimed at exploring opportunities for technical cooperation between the two institutions, with an emphasis on institutional capacity building, public integrity, and the development of joint initiatives in the areas of ethics, transparency, and talent management within tax administrations.

The meeting builds on the discussions held during the recent meeting of CIAT’s Standing Committee on Ethics in Cartagena de Indias and reflects a shared interest in moving toward collaborative frameworks that contribute to institutional strengthening in the region.

CIAT particularly values UNODC’s openness and willingness to develop joint agendas, reaffirming its commitment to promoting best practices, international cooperation, and the development of tools that strengthen integrity and public management in the tax administrations of Latin America and the Caribbean.
