CIAT to Host 3rd NTO Technical Conference in Panama

Panama City, Panama – October 4, 2024 – The Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) is pleased to announce that it will host the 3rd Network of Tax Organizations (NTO) Technical Conference from February 18-20, 2025, in Panama City.

CIAT signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on October 2nd, officially confirming its role as host of this important event. CIAT Executive Secretary Mr. Marcio Ferreira Verdi and Mr. Gunther Taube, Head of the Sectoral Program Good Financial Governance at GIZ, formalized the agreement.

Under the theme “Navigating the Digital Tax Landscape,” the conference will bring together over 180 tax authorities, policymakers, researchers, civil society organizations, and private sector representatives. The event will focus on the challenges and opportunities of taxation in the digital age, mainly e-commerce, crypto-assets, and the sharing economy.

“We are proud to host this key conference that will address crucial issues for the future of tax administration,” said Mr. Marcio Ferreira Verdi. “We look forward to welcoming experts to exchange knowledge and best practices in this ever-evolving field.”
