…but certainly Blogs with a hundred thousand hits

blog-No hay mal que dure cien años…It is likely that this is not the first post you read on CIATalk. If so, you contributed for the blog to have reached as of today, July 1st, 2011, one hundred thousand hits.

In these 9 months of existence, its forty-one posts have attracted 7765 visitors from 72 countries. Peru is the leading country with the highest numbers of users accessing the CIATalk with 15% of visits. Following still with important numbers are:  Brazil (7%), Colombia (6%), Argentina (6%), Ecuador (4%), U.S., Venezuela, and Mexico. We have been visited from Nepal, Australia, Indonesia, Albania and Pakistan at least once.

Thirty five percent of the visitors came directly to the CIATalk site by either pressing the link which goes to the News Alert, or by browsing the CIAT website. Forty two percent  reached us from references to articles from other sites and 22% through Internet search engines [1].

Without taking into account answers by bloggers, 210 comments were received and published while 393 visitors rated the articles with an average of 4.5 out of 5.

On the average, 88% of the CIATalk readers use some version of the Windows operating system, of which XP being the most common one, 8% uses Mac and the rest is concentrated on mobile devices, where the leader is the iPad/iPhone platform but also with the presence of BlackBerry and Android. In terms of browsers, Internet Explorer is preferred by 54% of visitors (60% with Version 8), Firefox is second in preference with 27%, Chrome is third with 13% and Safari is fourth with 4%.

The topics have focused on aspects of Tax Administration, Information Technology in the TA, Studies, Communication Strategy, International Taxation, activities of the Executive Secretariat, and as in this case, the Blog itself.
