CIAT strengthens processes and systems at the State Revenue of Alagoas
August 22, 2024. In a technical meeting organized by the Finance Secretariat of the State of Alagoas in Brazil, (Sefaz-AL), the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) had a strong participation, reinforcing its commitment to strengthening the state’s tax collection processes and systems.
CIAT was represented by Decio Carretta, CIAT Project Manager, and Raul Zambrano, CIAT Director of Technical Assistance and Innovation, who presented various international solutions and best practices that have been effective in other tax administrations in Latin America.
During the meeting, strategies aimed at optimizing the state tax management were discussed, with particular emphasis on the use of information technologies to improve efficiency and transparency in the collection processes.
CIAT’s participation in this event underscores its key role in the modernization of tax systems at the regional level, contributing with its vast experience and knowledge in the implementation of reforms that promote tax equity and compliance.
At the end of the meeting, both institutions highlighted the importance of international cooperation in strengthening tax administrations and ratified their commitment to continue working together to improve collection processes for the benefit of the citizens of Alagoas.
