Mr. Carlos Marx Carrasco, Director of the Internal Revenue Service of Ecuador and Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, CIAT Executive Secretary, signed, on February 23, a technical cooperation agreement of a strategic nature.

 By means of this agreement, both organizations may jointly hold at least one international event on tax administration per year, wherein SRI specialized officials may act as professors or instructors of courses and seminars developed by CIAT. Also, CIAT will technically assist the SRI in specific areas, so as to allow the Tax Administration of Ecuador to benefit from the experiences of the Executive Secretariat as well as of other countries.

To finalize details of this Agreement, the CIAT Technical Assistance Manager, Mr. Raul Zambrano, visited the Internal Revenue Service on February 22 and 23.
