On July 21 and 22, 2016 the CIAT Director of Tax Studies and Research, Mr. Miguel Eduardo Pecho Trigueros, traveled to Asuncion, Paraguay, to present to the State Under-secretariat of Taxation (SET) the final report containing the estimation of VAT compliance gap during the period 2010-2014.

In recent months, with the help of international consultant Michel Jorratt, the CIAT technical assistance program brought together representatives of the Central Bank, SET and the Ministry of Finance to collect the statistical information necessary to estimate the global gap and by major economic activities.

The report was presented to Ms. Lea Giménez, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Finance Ministry and to Ms. Marta Gonzalez Ayala, Vice Minister of SET, and officials from SET, the Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank. Similarly, the main results were shared with accredited media.
