CIAT Executive Secretariat participates in 7th WATAF High-Level Policy Dialogue

Within the framework of the cooperation that CIAT maintains with its peers in the Network of Tax Organizations (NTO), the CIAT Executive Secretariat attended the 7th WATAF High Level Policy Dialogue.
This meeting, held in Freetown, Sierra Leone, on September 15-19, 2025, discussed issues related to the framework for cooperation to achieve coherent policies and joint initiatives among stakeholders; building trust in the tax system to attract investments for sustainable development; the relationship between tax agencies and the private sector to strengthen the tax system; and leadership for the transformation of tax systems.
The CIAT Executive Secretariat actively participated in several panels. At the donors and partners meeting, CIAT initiatives were highlighted as aligned with the strategic priorities of WATAF member countries. In the Spotlight Session, WATAF partners presented their main initiatives and opportunities for cooperation, and CIAT presented its public goods, training programs, CIAT Data and documents of interest to African tax administrations. In the High-Level Panel No. 3, on international agencies and the private sector, the opening presentation of the round table focused on CIAT’s experience in the relationship with civil society, tax advisors, and companies. This presentation is supported by a document to be published by WATAF.
The CIAT Executive Secretariat thanks WATAF for its invitation, its trust, and the space that our organization had on the agenda. It thanks the Sierra Leone Revenue Authority (NRA) for its warm reception.
