In Panama City, on August 15, 2025, the Executive Secretariat of the Inter-American Center of Tax Administrations (CIAT) had the honor of welcoming Mr. Damián Larco, Director General of Ecuador’s Internal Revenue Service (SRI).

The main objective of the meeting, held at CIAT headquarters in Panama City, was to further strengthen the ties of cooperation and collaboration between the SRI and the Center. During the meeting, CIAT Executive Secretary, Mr. Márcio F. Verdi, together with his management team, presented to Director Larco the progress made in the products and services that the Center offers to enhance the processes and management of the tax administrations of its member countries.

Both parties discussed the current challenges of digital transformation and the importance of exchanging experiences and best practices to improve collection efficiency and voluntary tax compliance in the region.

CIAT sincerely thanks the Director General of the SRI, Mr. Damián Larco, for his visit and for his continued and valuable support of the various activities carried out by the Center in favor of strengthening tax administrations worldwide.
