From an idea to a community: CIAT presents its 60-year commemorative book at its General Assembly in the Dominican Republic

As part of its General Assembly in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic (May 12–14, 2026), CIAT is presenting a commemorative book marking its 60th anniversary: a document that chronicles not only milestones and achievements, but also the commitment, vision, and dedication of generations of professionals who have believed in the value of working together.

Since its founding in 1967, CIAT has been guided by a simple yet powerful idea: that cooperation among countries enables us to achieve more.

Six decades later, that vision has evolved into a strong, diverse community deeply committed to strengthening tax administrations and promoting the development of our countries.

This chronicle is more than just a historical account. It reflects a path we have built together: one marked by shared challenges, innovative solutions, and a steadfast commitment to service. Every page brings to life the experiences, lessons learned, and achievements that have shaped CIAT’s evolution.

As its executive secretary, Márcio Ferreira Verdi, aptly puts it, an idea gave rise to a history of cooperation: an idea that, over time, evolved into a community, a shared purpose, and a legacy that continues to grow today.

Today we celebrate 60 years, looking back on the past with pride, but above all looking forward to the future with hope. Because CIAT’s true value lies not only in what it has achieved, but in what it can still build.
